For those who choose to have us finish their furniture, we are happy to offer a highly durable, and beautiful finish. Our process involves 9 steps. |
Inspection |
Prior to finishing, our finisher inspects all pieces to ensure there are no blemishes. In this step, nail holes are filled, |
|
Sanding |
All furniture is given a once-over, at least, to ensure uniformity of finish, or remove any scratches. |
|
Staining |
Stain is applied either by hand or with a sprayer, depending upon the size of the piece(s) |
|
Sealing |
After the stain dries, we apply a sanding sealer, which seals the wood from excess moisture and leaves a layer conducive to lacquer application |
|
Scuffing |
When the sealer is dry, we lightly sand (scuff) to remove any dust that may have dried in the sealer, or any bubbles which may have developed as air has tried to escape the drying sealer. |
|
Lacquer |
Lacquer is applied once the scuffing is complete. This is the first layer of sheen, which adds the beauty to the wood |
|
Scuffing |
We scuff once again as the lacquer dries. This removes any debris that may have been caught in the drying lacquer, or any bubbles than may have formed |
|
Lacquer |
The final layer of lacquer. This layer ensures a durable, lasting finish, as well as a beautiful sheen |
|
Wet Wipe |
After the furniture is dry, we wipe the furniture with a diluted polish for cleaning. |
